Section 2/3- CLUB SUMMARY
Once you join the club on OFP the club administrator automatically gets notified then he sends an email with details on how/when to pay your entry fee. You can have more than 1 Username. The entry fee is Tell Doug now if you want to join the club and he will send you an email once the picks system is up and running. Having said that, people can join the club, pay the entry fee and create an account on ofp anytime but you just can't join the actual club on ofp to submit picks until early August each year. Prizes: We pay be adjusted by the # of Usernames the club has for the season. OFP charged $3.75 US in 2024 per Username meaning around $4 - $4.25 Canadian from each username is sent to ofp. This will be reflected for 2025 on the "Prize Structure" page.
Submitting Picks:
Each week on the ofp picks
system you submit picks for all games of the week
before the first early game of the week starts or, if there are no early games
before the first Sunday game starts
. Once your picks are submitted for the week you can change any
early game up until the time that game starts and change any Sunday
game until the first Sunday game starts which is usually 1:00 pm
Ontario time. You can submit picks weeks in advance and make
changes per above. Autopicks: including a Key Game. Works for early games too. If you don't submit picks before a Thursday game, once the game starts the the system picks all games for the week including a Key pick. Once this game starts you can go into the system and change any/all other games per #4 above. If you do go in and make changes after a game starts then your picks for the week will NOT appear as being done by Autopicks. All Picks: See everybodies picks. Click Picks then Poolwide Picks: Within a minute or so after the cut off time this report gets created and will show the picks for ALL Userames for the week. Once a game starts this file will be in order of most to least points and during games gets updated regularly. To see All Picks and other report stats for ONLY your friends you create a group per "Groups" on the Hints n Helpers page. Live Scores shows scores of games in progress and the status of participants. ie: Games correct and not. ALL prizes are awarded at the end of the season only per Rule Section 3/3- CLUB RULES:
When you Register in 1., Doug gives you the Club pool ID & Entry Code after which you do 2 things 1) Create an account on "officefootballpool.com" (henceforth referred to as ofp) = This can be done anytime. Go to the site and click on "Log In" top right then click on "Register New Account" and follow the couple of instructions. As you create your account ofp asks you to provide a Login Name that will appear on your picks sheet and reports. This can be Your Name or a Pen Name. Some Examples JOHNDOE / KICK / GOCHARGERS. We prefer that you use your real name so friends can easily watch your progress thru the season. Once you put a Login Name the ofp system will tell you if that name is still available. ie: Not used. 2) Join the club on ofp= cannot be done until the ofp system is activated in August. You need the Club ID and Entry Code from us to join. Log into ofp using your Login Name. Click on "Pools" then "Join a Pool" and you use the Club ID and Entry Code you got from Doug. Once you join dougsqbclub in August the club administrator, Doug, is automatically notified then sends you entry fee payment information. When you create your account
on ofp you provide an email address where we send notes like to end
of year prize winners. Entry
Fee is for the season and gives you Autopicks. See #6. at 2/3
above for
specific details on how Autopicks works.
If you have your own small group that is run manually, have your group join this club = everybody in your group has a chance at winning a prize in our club and your club too. Look in Once your LoginName (Account) is Created and you join our Club, you can submit picks for week one, the first couple of weeks or for the whole year and you can make changes to any week before the cut off deadline(s) for that week. Note that when you do picks early, their will be NO Spreads showing for any games. Spreads are added on Tuesday's but if you submitted picks before spreads were added, your picks do not get changed once spreads are added. You can join after the season starts but you get zero points for any weeks that are completed. Disclaimer a): Disclaimer b): 1) Payouts 1: If at least 9 games have been played before the season is cancelled, prizes will be awarded based on standings after the last games are completed. Any money left from the weekly $200 prizes will be used to boost prizes to $45 and / or what's left will be awarded in draws of $45 each among non winners. 2) Payouts 2: If 8 or fewer games are played before the season is cancelled, all participants will be refunded their entry fees LESS what we pay ofp which will be $3 - 4 Canadian for each Username. 3) Payouts 3: If the season is put on HOLD with a plan to possibly resume later in the year, no action with regards to payouts will be taken until the NFL makes a final decision ie: No action will be taken until the season is officially cancelled/ended. OFP: If the decision is made for dougsqbclub to operate for the season, the club administrator, Doug, will have to pay ofp $3 US for each Username. We usually have to pay ofp before the third week. This means from each entry fee $3 - 4 will go to ofp leaving the remainder for prizes. Cancelled Games: Once the season starts if a game gets cancelled or moved, our Weekly prize will be based on the Picks Sheet on OFP. Example: Team 1 vs Team 2 is re-scheduled for Tues., it will be part of the weekly for that week. If that game happens to get cancelled then the weekly will include games to the end of Monday night. Basically our Weekly Prize will be based on the weekly OFP Picks page. This will be the same for any week. If you picked a cancelled game as your Key game, you are responsible to log in and change it. If you don't change it before the cut off, you LOSE that Key pick. ie: you do not get an extra point and you do NOT get credit for picking that Key game for that week. If a game starts then is cancelled before time expires, our club will accept whatever ofp does to handle the situation. One result could be that participants who picked that game as their Key may loose their key. The season has not been cancelled in this clubs 45 year history. Scoring:
NOTE: If a participant allows the system to submit picks, ie: does not submit picks but rather lets autopicks do them, all points that participant gets for the week counts as if the participant had submitted picks including if that player gets the Key game and Tie breaker games correct. To Summarize: Any participant is eligible to win any Prize whether that player submits picks or lets the system do autopicks. That is to say once a participant pays the entry fee, his/her Username is eligible to win prizes whether he/she submits picks or lets the system do picks via the Autopicks option. Game Changes: B. If a game is cancelled AFTER the Cut Off time our club goes with whatever OFP decides. The last time this happened, that game was NOT counted in the Statistics for that week and as well anyone who selected that game as their Key Pick, did NOT get credit for a Key Pick for that week. This will always be guided by what OFP decides to do. C. Any cancelled game, we assume, will be played at a later date and OFP will add that game to the schedule for the week that game is to be played. If a cancelled game is played and is not part of a regular week that game will possibly NOT count in our standings OR if it is done as a separate week on OFP there will NOT be a weekly prize for that game. Prize Distribution: Each Username may win any number of weekly prizes. Participants who let Autopicks do their picks any week are eligible to win a weekly prize just as participants who submit picks are. Each Username may win only ONE end of the year prize. Weekly Prizes = Most points for the week which includes an extra point for a correct Key Game, is the weekly winner. If their is more than 1 winner, the prize is divided among all winners. The Tie Breaker game is NOT used in this club other than for year end prizes for the most tie breaker games correct. End of Year Prizes= If a Username is in line to win more than one of the end-of-year prizes, he/she shall take the prize worth the highest amount. For example if a username ties for position and also has the most Key Games, if the higher prize is Key Games, he gets the Key Games prize and his name gets dropped from the place prize. If the prize amounts are the same, he gets the Position prize. If a username ties for most Key Games & Tie Breakers and the prize is the same, he takes the Key Games prize and his name gets dropped from Tie Breaker prize. If one prize is a higher amount he takes the prize worth the higher amount. In the above paragraph, when a participant, call him misterX, takes a prize that is an equal amount to another prize he may have won, if the prize not taken means that another participant or participants may win a larger amount than before, that prize that misterX is not taking goes into the Bump pool. Example 1: John is in line to win $100 for 10th place but is also in line to win $100 for 2nd Key with Bill & Bob. In this case John takes the 10th place prize. Dropping John from 2nd place Key means Bob & Bill would now win $150 each which means they'd win more than John = instead of this happening the $100 that John was in line to win for 2nd Key goes into the Bump pool and Bill & Bob still get their $100. Similar applies if a participant is in line to win Key and Tie prize= Sam is the guy in line to win both with Jim & Joe in line for Tie. Sam would take the Key and if that means Jim & Joe would win a larger amount, Sam's Tie prize goes into the Bump pool. Example 2: John is in line to win a $100 for 10th place with other participants but he takes a $200 Key prize. If the result means that the other people now win $150 or $160 for 10th place then those people get the $150 or $160. If the result meant that the others would get more than John wins for Key ie: More than $200 then the others get their $100 for 10th place prize and the $100 that John would have won for 10th place goes into the bump pool. Payout. All prizes will be awarded ONLY at the end of the season.
